No long flights, no missions, Mauritius is the perfect holiday choice for everyone. With a variety of waves on offer, you can pick and choose the area you want to stay in. There are generally only a few surfers/locals on it in the early morning and late afternoons in the week, but most of the day it will go unsurfed, or surfed by just one or two fellow travellers. Weekends can be busier with up to 10 guys in the water at times. One Eyes Right will normally have half that number and probably no locals, so it can be a great option.
The locals are not the friendliest, so show respect, but they are not there most of the time during the week.
